Our Roots and Evolution
Iris Mae began as a grassroots vision to make movement, dance, and expressive arts accessible to every body, especially people from trauma, stress, or isolation. Founded by Iris Morales, our early community grew through weekly dance circles, workshops, and events hosted on puzzledtogether.org. As the work expanded, so did our name and mission. Today, Iris Mae is a nonprofit devoted to inclusive, trauma-informed spaces where movement becomes medicine for the mind, body, and spirit.

Our mission is to create inclusive movement experiences that foster connection, self-expression, confidence, and community engagement for adults of all abilities.
We believe that every individual deserves opportunities to participate, contribute, and be part of a welcoming community. Through movement, music, creativity, and shared experiences, we help individuals explore new interests, build relationships, and engage with the world around them.
